mPark is the new innovative way to pay for on-street parking in the centre of Edinburgh.
Edinburgh is the first UK city to offer motorists a choice of how to pay for on-street parking.
Coins will still be accepted by all Pay & Display machines.

Motorists are required to pre-register to use mPark, thereafter their mobile phone number is recognised when they call the main service number. The cost of the parking transaction is logged against the mobile phone so there is no need to carry a supply of coins for parking.

Users can also opt to have an SMS text message sent to them 10 minutes before expiry time of their voucher in order that they can return to their vehicle in good time and avoid a Penalty Charge Notice.

Instructions

Using mPark is simple and avoids the need to find the correct change when you use on-street parking.

1. go to Pay & Display machine identified by the mPark sticker
2. press the YELLOW button
3. call 0870 840 1000
4. enter the machine number then press # on your mobile phone
5. if you require a text reminder to be sent ten minutes before your parking expires, enter 1# on your phone*, if you do not want a text reminder enter 2#
6. press the BLUE button to increase parking time by 1 hour increments
7. press the GREEN button to print your ticket
8. collect your ticket and display as usual
