The commuting data tables are organised into three strands: Local Economic Forum (LEF) areas, metro-region areas and Scotland level distance travelled. Within the LEF and metro-region areas strands, the data has been organised into six themes:
- all in employment;
- employees;
- self-employed;
- socio-economic classification;
- occupation; and
- method of travel to work.
For all themes, data is available for full-time and part-time workers separately. For all in employment, employees and the self-employed, a gender split is also available. The tables listed below contain commuting flow information based on the 2001 Census at Metropolitan Region level.
Similar data is also available at Local Economic Forum level.
