About Us

Once you know what you’re studying, what’s next? How about somewhere to live?

Riding past the MeadowsOf course, many students will choose to stay at home. And that's great for them - there’s nothing like Mum’s cooking and laundry service. But one of the best things about going to uni is the chance to be independent, and live on your own for the first time.

It’s exciting, sure. But it can be a bit overwhelming as well.

That’s where we come in. The Accommodation Team can help you with all the advice you need to find a place and get settled in.

  • For instance, did you know that accommodation in a uni flat costs as little as £82 per week?

  • Or that students are exempt from paying council tax in private accommodation?

Whatever you’re thinking, we’ll talk you through your options, and help you with paperwork and any questions that may come up.

Whether it’s a university flat or private accommodation, we’ve only got one aim: to get you set up in your home away from home!

William RanatungaOur students say...

I lived in a private flat for my last three years of study at Napier. It’s a really good way to meet students from university that perhaps I wouldn’t meet on campus or in student accommodation. Meeting people from other unis and locals that are not necessarily student has helped me to feel integrated within the Edinburgh community. It’s also eased me into everday responsibilities, such as bill paying, budgeting and cooking. It’s a good opportunity to live with friends and build lasting relationships.

When I first moved into student accommodation, it seemed a little empty and lacking some of the home comforts I was used to. But it didn’t take me long to make the flat feel like home and get the cosy atmosphere I wanted. I didn’t know the people I was sharing with, but thanks to the social areas within the flat, we soon became good friends. The city centre location makes it easy for me to get out and about, whether its nipping to the pub for a drink or having a night out with my friends.
