The Top Base is a provision for pupils from S1 – S4. The Top Base is part of Top Services and pupils usually attend the provision as part of a broader package of support. Pupils have behaviour difficulties which prevents them attending a mainstream school full time. Pupils are given the opportunity to complete selected courses and sit examinations. There is a strong focus on personal and life skills. Strong links are made with the community and young people are encouraged to participate in work experience, projects and college links. After the Top Base, young people can be supported back to school, into the world of work, college, PAVE (Programme for Alternative Vocational Education) or Skillseekers programme.
