What's new in Edinburgh City Region for 2008?

Visit Scotland, the official tourist board for Edinburgh and the Lothians, regularly supplies details of new and upcoming attractions and events in Edinburgh City Region. Full details are available on the Edinburgh tourist board website or contact Visit Scotland for further information.

  • Mary, Queen of Scots Trail launched

    VisitScotland and all four local authorities across Edinburgh and Lothians have been working jointly to develop the Mary, Queen of Scots Trail initiative with VisitScotland.The trail has touch points throughout the Edinburgh and Lothians area and beyond and highlights the range of attractions and things to see and do linked to her life, including Dunbar Castle, Tantallon Castle, Hailes Castle and Lennoxlove House in East Lothian.

  • New Lothian tourism guides and map, things to do

    A range of downloadable information to help you with your planning on what to see and do on your trip to Edinburgh & Lothians

  • Visit Scotland's Cafe days

    Four cafés in East Lothian - Luca’s Café in Musselburgh; N° 12 Quality Street and the Scottish Seabird Centre Café, both in North Berwick; and The Garden Path café in Dunbar –have joined around 200 other cafés across Scotland that have been nominated the nation’s favourite in VisitScotland’s Café Days campaign.

  • Launch of new events website for Edinburgh, what's on where

    A website developed by the City of Edinburgh Council as a resource for visitors and residents to highlight the fantastic range of events that the city hosts. Additionally, it has a section for event planners, offering them all the information they will need to plan an event in the city. Visitors to the site can find comprehensive listings of events taking place in Edinburgh, allowing you to find out what’s on and where.
