Homecoming 2009
Edinburgh is extending a very warm invitation
to join our year long Homecoming Scotland celebrations in Scotland
in 2009.
2009 marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of the Scottish
national poet and cultural icon Robert Burns, the inspiration
behind the year long celebration of some of Scotland's great
contributions to the world. Whether you have Scots ancestry or
simply a passion for Scotland, 2009 will be an exceptional year to
visit.
A programme of inspirational events will run throughout 2009,
complementing the vast range of world-class attractions already
offered in Scotland.
As part of the homecoming celebrations Edinburgh will be hosting
the world's biggest ever Clan Gathering.
