Edinburgh International Book Festival
Every August, the Edinburgh International Book
Festival is the biggest annual celebration of the written word in
the world, playing host to over 500 international and Scottish
authors in 650 events over 17 days.
All events are held in a tented village in
Charlotte Square Gardens – an historic Georgian garden in the heart
of the city.
Events for people of all ages include talks
and readings, debates, book signings, workshops and storytelling,
attracting over 200,000 visitors each August.
Nobel-Prize winners, exciting new talent and
over 200 writers from Scotland gather to create the biggest
showcase for authors in the world – over 35 different countries are
represented each year.

Book Festival are:
- Susan Sontag
- Al Gore
