Mary King’s Ghost Fest – Edinburgh Ghost Festival
Edinburgh’s annual Ghost Festival, Mary King’s
Ghost Fest, provides an exciting opportunity to delve deep into
Edinburgh's dark and mysterious past, exploring the haunted nature
of this extraordinary city. The award winning festival hosts an
exciting programme of events to entice both enthusiasts and
sceptics, for the curious and the dubious.
In 2007 the events line up included
groundbreaking infrasound experiments, paranormal investigations,
Electronic Voice Phenomena workshops, literary tours and events,
and screenings of classic films with ghostly themes.
The UNESCO world heritage site, Edinburgh’s
medieval Old Town is the epicentre of the festival. Popular
events include paranormal investigations of the infamous Real Mary
King’s Close; overnight vigils in the Blair Street vaults, offering
the possibility of experiencing an encounter with the afterlife and
clairvoyant gatherings.
