Edinburgh Ambassador Programme
Become an Edinburgh Ambassdor and help to bring conferences to
your city.
The Edinburgh Ambassador Programme plays a vital role in
promoting the city region as a conference destination. A
well-organised conference is the perfect way to draw attention to
the exciting developments in your industry or academic field, and
to put your research and colleagues on a world stage.
Edinburgh Ambassadors are members of professional associations
from such diverse sectors as life sciences, commerce, higher
education, sport and the law.
The award-winning Edinburgh Ambassador Programme is managed by
Edinburgh Convention Bureau (ECB). It provides free support to
attract conferences to the city and showcases Edinburgh as a
conference destination.
Edinburgh Ambassador insights:
Chris Hodgson, Moredun Research Institute
“I am impressed by the detail, quality, speed, scope and
professionalism of assistance provided by ECB and am pleased to
help promote the organisation and bring it to the attention of
others here at Pentland Science Park for whom it is likely to be
extremely beneficial and helpful in the future.”
Professor Angus Wallace, Royal College of Surgeons of
Edinburgh
“In my bid to attract the International Congress on Surgery of
the Shoulder to Edinburgh, the team at the Edinburgh Convention
Bureau gave me tremendous help in preparing a bid. The printed
brochure and the information provided by the Convention Bureau were
invaluable. We have won the bid to host this event with around
1,000 attendees, for the year 2010.”
Professor John Monaghan, University of Edinburgh
“We won the International Mass Spectrometry bid because of the
quality of the material that we provided and in all of this
activity, Edinburgh Convention Bureau’s support was invaluable:
Conference venue selected (EICC), budget in place, and hotels and
cheaper student accommodation provisionally booked. Edinburgh was
shown to be a top quality city to visit.”
