It’s also just minutes’ walk to the main shopping street, Princes Street. Close to the University of Edinburgh’s central area.

Fountainbridge

Just a five minute walk east from Tollcross, this area is renowned as a student centre. It’s a quiet area with just a few pubs and clubs and the house prices are reasonable as they are aimed at students. Home to a modern cinema complex with bowling alley, pubs, a health and fitness centre and nightclub.

Haymarket

A nice area to live, although it’s not particularly geared towards students. Near to Haymarket train station with its links to Glasgow and the wider Edinburgh City Region, plus links to the mainline train services to England and the north of Scotland. Close to Lothian Road and Princes Street.
