Edinburgh Southside - Student Accommodation

Bruntsfield

A great place for students to live, very close to Napier University and within easy reach of the University of Edinburgh. Focused around main road down from Morningside to the city centre, lined with speciality shops and café bars. 15-20 min walk from the pubs and clubs in the centre of Edinburgh through the leafy Meadows.

Marchmont

Very lively student area with a slightly more residential atmosphere. Closer to the University of Edinburgh and 5-10 minutes’ walk from Napier’s Merchiston campus. Closer to the city centre – just 10 minutes’ walk through the Meadows. This large central park is perfect for frisbee-throwing, running and spontaneous games of football and rugby.

Morningside

Affluent area further south but still very accessible with good bus routes. Focused around long shopping street with many speciality shops. Close to Napier’s Craighouse and Craiglockhart campuses. Prices are a bit more expensive.

Newington

A large area, extending from close to the University of Edinburgh’s main campus in Bristo Square to their science campus, The King’s Buildings, on Blackford Hill in the south of the city. The city centre section is popular with students on a budget with numerous shops for all and easy walking distance to the centre’s main venues.

The city is inspiring. It’s like a fairytale. You always see something different, like when the fog comes rolling in.
