Student accommodation
If you live more than about 54 km away from
the city centre, you should be eligible for a place in
university accommodation or college
accommodation. Different rules apply and you should check this out
as soon as possible with your institution to secure a room or
shared flat.
If there aren’t enough places, you may need to
rent privately. This is relatively easy to do as there’s a wide
choice of private flats, rooms and bedsits available for students.
But you need to arrange it as early as possible to ensure that you
find the best place for yourself. Start by looking at the
neighbourhoods that are most
popular with students. They fall within three main areas:
Southside, West
End and the City
Centre.
In this section you can also find out about
international student accommodation
and accommodation for postgraduate
students and their families.
