Napier University
Introduction
Napier is ranked as the third highest
performing modern Scottish University according to the Sunday Times
University League Table 2007. Napier excels in providing students
with the skills and qualifications desired by employers. Student
work placements – which are often paid – ensure Napier students hit
the ground running once they graduate. A range of support
facilities, including a 24/7 500-seat computing facility at

system enables students, with the help of an academic adviser, to
design and customise their own courses to suit their interests and
lifestyle.

Napier has particular strengths in
Business, Engineering, Journalism and Publishing, Photography and
Film, Biological and Health Sciences, Computing and IT. The most
popular programmes are in Business, the Creative arts, Mass
Communications, Nursing and Midwifery.
Napier also has renowned research centres in Timber Engineering,
Transport Research and Employment Research; as well as hosting the
International Teledemocracy Centre and - in association with
Edinburgh College of Art - Screen Academy Scotland.
Location
Napier is based
on five main campuses in south-west Edinburgh at Merchiston,
Craighouse, Craiglockhart, Canaan Lane and Comely Bank, all in
central Edinburgh. The spectacular Craiglockhart campus offers
state-of-the-art teaching facilities, computer suites and
library.The new £55m campus at Sighthill will include a £5m
community sports facility.
