University courses
Your university or college may provide
specific courses to help you make the transition from academia to
the workplace – ask them for more information.
For example, Napier University has devised a
groundbreaking initiative called The Confident Futures Project.
It’s designed to boost students’ confidence, self-awareness and
employability. This unique course equips students with life skills
to enable them to fulfil their career and personal aspirations.
They learn how to develop strong self-belief and well-founded
confidence, and deal with difficult situations positively and with
self-reliance. The pilot was launched in September 2006 with over
400 new students. Currently optional, Napier plans to embed the
programme in their academic structures over the next three
years.
