School registration
At the start of your child’s school education,
you should register for the local Primary 1 intake. You can do this
at your local school during registration week. This usually takes
place in December and is advertised in the local press. When you
register, you will be asked to provide proof of residence in the
area.
If your child is in a city school and is
preparing to move from primary to secondary school, a letter
confirming your district high school will automatically be sent to
you late in November. If you want your child to go to this school,
you do not need to take any further action.
If your child is not part of a new Primary 1
or Secondary 1 intake, the enrolment procedure is slightly
different. You need to contact the school you want your child to
attend and they will let you know if there is a place available. If
not, your child can go on a waiting list.
