Edinburgh - International Tourism
Edinburgh’s reputation as a city
break destination means that visitors come in large numbers all
year round. Edinburgh is the UK’s second tourism city after London
and is the gateway to the rest of Scotland.
Around 3.6m visitors a year come to the
Inspiring Capital, more than 1m of them from overseas. Between them
these account for more than 13m bednights in the city.
The vigour of the local international
communities and the growth in international visitors has boosted
the number of specialist community outlets available in the city
region, from restaurants offering global cuisine to specialist
delicatessens.
