University graduates in Edinburgh City Region

Edinburgh City Region's universities
are reputed internationally for their high quality graduates.
There are more than 55,000 full and part-time students enrolled
at Edinburgh's four universities:
The University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier University, Heriot-Watt University and Queen Margaret University.
All four are recognised for their
research excellence and ranked among Scotland's top universities
alongside the University of St Andrews and the University of
Stirling.
In Edinburgh, an impressive 32% of adults aged 16-64 hold a
first or higher degree.
Across Scotland, 70% of postgraduate and first degree qualifiers
from Scottish Higher Education institutions were employed in
graduate level occupations within Scotland or engaged in further
study or training six months after completing their higher
education course.
China, the United States, France, Ireland and India are the
top five countries of origin for international students in Edinburgh.

81.8% of students enrolled in Edinburgh's universities in
2009/10 were UK residents, while 8.4% lived elsewhere in the
European Union and 9.4% lived outside the European Union.
