College graduates in Edinburgh City Region

Edinburgh's higher and further education colleges, with almost
40,000 students enrolled, include;
The Royal
College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Edinburgh College of Art, the Scottish Agricultural College, Edinburgh's Telford College,
Jewel and Esk College and
Stevenson College
Edinburgh.
Across Edinburgh City Region, there are more than 130,000
students enrolled at 13 further education
colleges, including Forth Valley College in Falkirk and Adam Smith
College in Kirkcaldy.
There are 43 further education Colleges across Scotland, providing education and
training to around 500,000 students each year. The college sector
is the largest provider of vocational training in Scotland.
The sector has seen enrolments jump by almost 90% since 1994/95
and provides more than 22,000 qualifiers a year.
Further education colleges offer courses for people over the age
of sixteen, involving school-level qualifications such as Higher
Grade exams, as well as work-based learning.
Higher education colleges offer degree-level courses, such as
diplomas.
