Leith
Leith is one of Edinburgh's most popular areas for creative
businesses, with a dynamic cluster of companies based around the
Shore. These include award-winning advertising agency The Leith Agency, design group
Navyblue and digital
marketing agency Bigmouthmedia.
Royal Mile
The Royal Mile is known as Edinburgh's 'Literary
Quarter' bringing together organisations in the area such as
the Scottish Book Trust, the Scottish Storytelling Centre, the
Scottish Poetry Library, the National Library of Scotland, the
Writers' Museum and publisher Canongate Books.
Meadowbank
St Margaret's House next to Meadowbank Stadium on London Road is
gaining a reputation as Edinburgh's ' artists quarter'. In 2008 the
building was opened as Arts Complex,
offering affordable studio space able to accommodate over 200
artists, and an 11,000 sq ft gallery space.
Other areas around Edinburgh with a concentration of creative
industries include George Street, the West End and Holyrood, where
the Scottish Parliament and Scotsman Publications buildings are
both based.
