In 2008 Edinburgh was named as of
the world's top ten cities by travel magazine Wanderlust.
In addition, the 2008 Trip Advisor Destination Awards named
Edinburgh as the top 10 destination in Europe and 27th
in the world.
Edinburgh has won an impressive 12 Best City
awards in the last seven years, including the UK's Favourite
City in The Guardian/Observer Travel Awards. Other
accolades recognising excellence across Edinburgh City Region

- Foreign Direct Investment (2008) ranks
Edinburgh as top Small European City, 6th Best Overall City in
Europe and second best in Europe (after London) for Human
Resources. This places Edinburgh ahead of major cities, such
