South Edinburgh
Edinburgh's southern border with Midlothian is the location
of the pioneering biomedical development and the centre of
Edinburgh Science Triangle, a
collaboration of seven science parks ranked among the world's top
20 and Europe's top 10 science park locations.
Edinburgh BioQuarter at
Little France off the A7 is the biggest of the science park
developments within Edinburgh Science Triangle and is unique to the
UK in terms of the co-location of clinical and research expertise.
High quality infrastructure, co-location and R&D leadership are
the components of success, and nowhere in the UK offers the same
level of opportunity and potential as Edinburgh BioQuarter.
BioCampus, Scotland's first
dedicated biomanufacturing campus, is also part of Edinburgh
Science Triangle in Midlothian alongside
Edinburgh
Technopole, Pentlands Science
Park and the Roslin
BioCentre.
Other key Edinburgh South developments include PARC at Craigmillar, a £200m regeneration
project involving 2,000 homes, three new schools, a new civic
centre and 300,000 sq ft for commercial and retail development and
Shawfair
Park at Sherriffhall, a new business park with excellent
integrated transport connections tipped to become the commercial
hub for south Edinburgh and Midlothian.
