This website serves as the official introduction to Edinburgh
City Region. Users are invited to explore the website for
information about visiting, living, investing and studying in
Edinburgh City Region.

Navigation
Navigation is provided through a left hand menu for each
section, breadcrumb trail, site map, and the ‘Also of interest…’
links.
As well as providing statistical and factual information, the
website acts as a signpost to information that is readily available
about Edinburgh City Region on third party websites. This
website is not all encompassing and relies on the information
available on third party and partner websites to satisfy the
visitor’s requirements.
Website visitors are invited to self select which information
they require and navigate the website accordingly*.

Site structure
The site has four main sections: LIVE, INVEST, VISIT and STUDY,
listed across the banner at the top of the page. Within each
subsection users have the opportunity to navigate through content
by using the left hand navigation panel and the ‘Of interest…’
links sections at the foot of relevant pages.

section.
Search
The search function provides a means for a basic search and an
advanced search. The Advanced search functionality allows the user
to search using wildcards and Boolean searches (and, or and
not).
Metric measurements
Throughout this website we use metric references for distance,
length etc. If you would like to convert these to imperial
measurements you may find an online
conversion tool useful.
Design and Browser support
The official Edinburgh City Region website has been
designed to work in the major browsers Internet Explorer, Firefox,
Safari and across both PC and MAC platforms.
The website design fits a resolution of 800 pixel width or
greater.
Where a given browser / platform combination does not render as
designed, the information will still
be accessible by the user. Some difference in visual look and feel
may occur in these unsupported browsers.
Downloads
Various documents are provided for the visitor to download. On
average, download times are 1 minute per 1 megabtye on a standard
56k modem.
