With Christmas just round the corner, it brings with it all manner of associated festive events. Oh yes it does. If you haven’t already guessed, we’re kicking off the December what’s-on round-up with some panto. As ever, the big one in Edinburgh is the King’s Theatre panto. This year, it’s Jack and the Beanstalk, starring stalwarts Allan Stewart, Andy Gray and Grant Stott. There’s also Mother Goose at the Brunton Theatre and for something a bit different from the traditional panto formula, you could always try theThree Musketeers and the Princess of Spain, a swash-buckling tale of derring-do staged at the Traverse.
If you’re thinking that because it’s now October, Edinburgh’s festival fun is over for another year, well, you’re wrong – there’s plenty of that still taking place in the city this month, plus much more. Here are our five picks.
